Fall Fashion

Since that South Dakota weather has finally given us some of those perfect fall days, I’ve decided to dedicate this post to all of the super adorable fall trends that I wish I had. Being the girl I am, I’ve searched through Pinterest and I have fallen in love with so many perfect autumn outfits. Finding clothes that are seen on Pinterest are almost impossible to find in the real world so you can purchase them (unless you’re lucky, I was once), and even if you do find them they’re usually expensive. But hey, a girl can dream.

Fall is the perfect season to break out the boots, sweaters, scarfs, and jeans. I, personally, love the “typical” fall outfit of riding boots, skinny jeans, a scarf, and sweaters. I think it looks comfy and stylish. Do I ever wear an outfit like that? Nope! I unfortunately can never find riding boots that fit right. But I can admire the girls that do rock that super cute outfit!

Another fabulous thing about fall is the JACKETS! Oh how I love jackets! Whether it’s just a casual Columbia, an army jacket, or a cool leather jacket, jackets are fashionable and do the job of keeping you warm enough! Plus, they’re great for layering (another great bonus of fall). They just add the perfect touch to an outfit! I’m a big fan of the army jackets (I don’t own one because I’m a poor college kid), and leather jackets are always a good go-to. I feel that they can work with a lot of different styles, and occasions.

Along with the jackets and jeans, comes boots! All kinds of adorable boots. I love the shorter boots, with little to know heal…I’m weird, I know. But riding boots are super cute as well! Boots, like jackets, can just add something to an outfit! Boots aren’t always the most comfortable, but beauty is pain 🙂

There are just so many great trends that come with fall, and luckily, some transfer to winter, so lucky us 🙂

Let’s Get a Little Hairy

Hey guys!

So for some reason I have been all about my hair recently. So I thought it would be fine to post some of my favorite products that I use. I’m not that good at doing my hair, and I never do anything special with it…usually I just straighten it. But recently I have found some things that I love!

Heat protection spray – SO IMPORTANT to use when styling your hair with heat. I’ve tried a lot of brands but I’m completely in LOVE with my current spray! My hair is noticeably softer than it used to be and it’s not as frizzy!

Color protection spray – I added some blonde highlights this summer and I really didn’t want my hair to fade weird so I looked in to color products. I’ve never used or even heard of anything like this before, but I’m glad I found it on the shelf at Target, because I’m in LOVE! It smells amazing and I think that it is actually working, it could also be helping with the softness.

Shampoo and Conditioner – I know there are lots of options out there for keeping your hair clean, but if you’re like me (or multiple other girls) and have colored hair, it’s important you have good shampoo to keep you’re hair healthy. Most brands have some sort of color treated hair shampoo and conditioner, but you don’t really need to buy that specifically. According to my hair dresser, anything that says moisturizing or hydrating on the bottle is gonna do the same thing! That could save you a couple bucks at the store. I just switched to a natural shampoo and conditioner and I’m completely in love, and it’s not expensive at all! This also smells amazing!

TRESemme has and always will be my go to shampoo and conditioner. They are cheap and work fantastic!

I’ve also tried the brand Not Your Mothers, and their products are really good too! They smell great, but they are a little more expensive and you don’t get a lot of product for what you pay for.not-your-mothers-hair-styling-products

Hopefully you learned something, or I’ve helped you out in some way 🙂

Fav Friday! – An Ode to Jeans

So today’s Fav Friday is all about JEANS! I’m sorta obsessed with jeans (my roommate, Caitlyn, gave me crap for having so many pairs). I have like 8 pairs of jeans, surprisingly they are all different. I guess, according to Caitlyn, having more than 4 pairs is weird. My “obscene” amount of jeans may also come from my crazy shopping problem (something I inherited from my grandma. She even told me the other day that when I was a little girl, my mom came up to her and told her that I was gonna be a shopper like her.) I just love clothes, and you can never have too many clothes, right? 🙂

I don’t know why people wouldn’t want to have lots of different jeans, they go with almost anything. You can dress them down with a t-shirt and tennis shoes, or dress them up with a nice top and cute sandals. You can where them in the winter, fall, spring, and summer (I love to roll my skinny jeans into capris). I’m don’t like to wear denim shorts that often, I feel like everything is out there. I don’t feel comfortable, so I usually also just roll up my jeans and do a tank if its hot. If it’s super hot to the point where jeans are out of the question, I resort to running shorts…so comfy.

Some people feel the need to spend over $50 on a pair of jeans, sometimes over $100. I think that’s crazy…who cares about sparkly pockets. I’m a glitter person, and I would love a pair of Rock Revivals or Miss Mes but I will never spend over $50 dollars on a pair of jeans. It’s just crazy! I personally love American Eagle jeans. They are super comfortable, they have great washes, and they commonly have a sale where you can get jeans for under $30. Seriously, THAT’S A GREAT DEAL! I only wear AE jeans, and I can’t get enough! I recommend everyone goes and buys a pair…or 5! 😉

I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

Kylie 🙂

Fav Friday!

Happy Friday everyone! I hope everyone is getting ready for a eventful weekend, I know that I am! My high school’s prom is this weekend and in honor of that I thought I would do a Fav Friday in honor of that. It’s going to be stretching the theme a bit, but it’s my blog and I made the theme so I guess I can do what I want! 🙂 I’m going to post my “favorite” prom look, so basically what I would want if I could go to prom one last time!

Just so you guys know…I’m just going through my pins on pinterest to find these!

1. the dress! probably the most important part of your look! My junior year I went for big and poofy, and senior year I went for a simple A-line with some beading on the top.

I feel like green is always a good choice. I’m not sure about other schools, but at my school green was never a popular prom dress color…especially the deep green. I’m a huge fan of glitter and sparkle, not so much the pink, but I love the look of this second dress.

I just really loved the back of this purple dress. I personally loved having my one strap my senior year, it’s just a sense of protection. Plus, you don’t have to constantly keep pulling up your dress all night…that’s a huge bonus!

2. Hair! another super important thing to consider! I did half down, half up for my junior year and all the way up my senior year. Personally I think an up-do is easier for prom, it’s cooler and doesn’t get in the way.

Image     Image

Up-dos are good if you have a dress with a dramatic back or if you know it’s going to be hot or wet.

Hair down can be really simple and cute! It all depends on your dress, and your preference.

3. MAKE-UP! this can make or break a look. For both of my years of prom, I didn’t do much for make-up and I regret it. At that time in my life I was sorta make-up challenged so it probably wouldn’t have mattered anyway. I think that for prom you should go for a simple yet noticeable look, but don’t over do it. Personally, I prefer a more natural look but I want it too look like I tried.

I love these lashes!!

4. Shoes! I’d definitely go for comfort. You’re probably going to spend a hour if not more taking pictures…plus dinner, and grand march. My senior year I wore Vans, and it looked fine!

Image

5. Jewelry! it’s definitely a personal preference. I’m not a big jewelry person to begin with so I didn’t wear much. To be honest, a corsage was annoying enough for a evening (even though it was gorgeous). Unlike my roommate, who is blinged out 24/7; I actually have never seen her without at least 3 rings or bracelets. So jewelry was probably a big thing for prom for her.

Image

This was my actual corsage for my senior year; it had strips of rhinestone is it! LOVE!

6. your date! of course this is not required, but sometimes a date can make the whole experience better. You don’t need a boyfriend, just pick someone that you’re comfortable with and that you know you’ll have fun with. I took my best friend, and he was the best date I could ask for!

I hope this was semi-interesting! Have a great weekend!

Smiles,

Kylie 🙂

Expensive things, I wish I could afford

So I’m kinda a shopaholic. I absolutely love expanding my wardrobe even though I don’t where half of what I own (kinda sad…I know). When walking through stores, or scrolling online I always come across things that “I need” but for sure can’t afford to buy it…I makes me slightly depressed.

Sale-Shopping

Here’s a short list of things I wish I could cough money up for…

1. Birkenstocks…I know, I know, every typical white girl owns a pair of these, and I try to avoid that stereotype but I can’t help it…typical white girls have a lot of cute stuff.

2. Bracelets, and Earrings…I know they aren’t a huge expense but it’s hard for me to spend $15 on a super cute bracelet when I could buy a even cuter top for $25. Plus I don’t wear a lot of bracelets…probably because I don’t own many.

3. Scarves…I have a decent collection already, but I want to expand. A lot of the super cute scarves I find, usually at American Eagle, and they cost around $25. That’s a crazy amount of money for a small piece of fabric.

4. Miss Me Jeans…also another typical white girl item. But I love the sparkly detail of these jeans and Rock Revivals. I’ve came close to purchasing a pair so many times, but I can never hack up the $150.

5. Army Jackets…these are really in right now, and I love the style. But when I found the perfect one it was almost $50. I’m picky when it comes to jackets, they have to fit a certain way. So there’s not a big possibility of me going out and buying a cheaply made one.

6. Shoes…I’m a total shoe person. If I could have a closet full of them I would. Reasonably priced, decently priced shoes are so hard to find. And like my jackets, I picky when it comes to shoes, so I usually resort to paying more for a pair

That’s just a short list of shopping items I wish I could afford.

Smiles,

Kylie 🙂
